From 9 June to 10 July, the Bastion de France is hosting the exhibition ‘Bor’di mare & beyond’, a special tribute to the Corsican artist Dominique degli Esposti.
A unique figure in contemporary art, Dominique degli Esposti has explored a wide range of artistic disciplines: painting, theatre, film, photography, video and performance. Her work, which has gained international recognition, has been presented at the Cannes Film Festival, received an award from UNESCO and exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, as well as at major venues in Paris such as the Palais Chaillot.
The exhibition ‘Bor’di mare & beyond’ highlights the richness of his artistic world and his unique perspective on the Mediterranean, exploring themes of memory, place and visual experimentation. It forms part of an initiative to promote contemporary art in Corsica and the island’s cultural heritage.
This project was commissioned by the City of Portivechju and produced in partnership with FRAC Corsica, the Museum of Bastia, the Corsican Film Archive, the Arterra Association and the Mediterranean Centre for Photography. The exhibition is curated by Vannina Bernard-Leoni.
