L'ALTA ROCCA

THE LAND OF LORDS

The Alta Rocca is a mid-mountain area bounded by the Bavella and Ospedale massifs and the Cuscionu plateau, the highest point of which is the Alcudina at 2134 metres.

The diversity of landscapes that make up this region offers an exceptionally rich flora and fauna.

With 9,000 years of history, this singular territory, rich in potential, is one of the oldest populated places in Corsica. Known as "the land of the lords" in the Middle Ages, the region is now made up of 16 villages, each more attractive than the last. Numerous natural and heritage treasures (ovens, bridges, mills, fountains, etc.) have been preserved, along with a diversity of styles that have been shaped by history (Romanesque churches, chapels, convents, etc.).
