On Saturday 13 June 2026, the town of Porto-Vecchio is organising a special day of commemoration entitled «Pasquale Paoli’s departure from Porto-Vecchio for Europe». This event pays tribute to Pasquale Paoli, a major symbol of Corsican history and identity, and to his departure for Europe from the town of Porto-Vecchio.
On the programme:
5.30 pm – Wreath-laying ceremony (Molu Pasquale Paoli): The commemoration will begin with an official moment of silence. The ceremony will be followed by a march to the Bastion de France, accompanied by I Naziunali.
6.30 pm – Talk (Cunsiglu pà l’avvena x Storia97): A session for discussion and knowledge-sharing will be held to explore Paoli’s political and historical legacy and its impact on Corsica today.
8.00 pm – Sirata Ricordu di Petru Pà (Le Bon Coin bar): An evening of music and conviviality at Le Bon Coin bar with Ricordu di Petru Pà.
