A day of celebration on 8 March

The heart of Portivechju will beat to the rhythm of Carnival on Saturday 8 March 2025!

Organised by Associu I Baroni, this 9ᵉ edition promises a whirlwind of colour, laughter and music. Let yourself be amazed by the carnival corso , with its floats and ensembles, and treat the youngest members of your family to a giant tea party in the Piazza ‘llu Quartieri, then dance the night away during the lively ball. Concerts and surprises will round off this exceptional day.

It's the perfect opportunity to get together and rediscover the magic of Portivechju in the off-season!

Highlights of the day!

14:30 - departure of the corso
The Porto-Vecchio Carnival Corso, with its home-made floats and ensembles, will bring a touch of colour and conviviality to the town. In a festive atmosphere, the costumed participants will parade to the rhythm of the music.
16:15 - Children's ball and tea party
During Carnival, children will be offered a friendly snack with delicacies prepared for the occasion.
16:45 - «Commedia dell'arte» show»
Between subterfuge, singing, fighting, acrobatics and laziness, laughter is guaranteed. Young and old alike will love this colourful show! Presented by Compagnie Dinamo Théâtre.
17:15 - Award ceremony for the 2025 winners
The 2025 competition will award prizes for the best float and the best ensemble. New this year, the following prizes will also be awarded:
*U Coccò«, the »Coup de Coeur" award from Associu I Baroni
*U Machjò«, the DIY and/or eco-friendly corso.
*U Pezzò«, the prize for the best »couturier« to highlight the work done on costumes and disguises.
*U Buffò« the best atmosphere in the corso (music, dance, choreography, etc.)
19:00 - FANCY DRESS PARTY!
After the parade, the Carnival Ball will liven up the evening. Come and dance the night away in a festive atmosphere. Concert and musical entertainment (Groupe Eppò, Watermelon) and DJ Set. Admission €5
