U Chjassu di i Carbunari

The 1st heritage trail created by the A Punta Bunifazinca association, U Chjassu di I Carbunari was laid out on the Pargulu slope on the right bank of the Cavu, which was the scene of intense activity in charcoal production and livestock farming.

This slope is crammed with dozens of charcoal pits ("carbunara/carbunari") and also features some rather atypical curiosities for the region, two milking pens for goats ("mandria", "cumpulu") and a rock shelter ("oriu"). This trail, which was laid out during the winter of 2016-2017, was extended by a parallel trail at a higher altitude during the winter of 2018-2019 to form a loop with a panoramic return and sea/mountain views...
The path starts at the entrance to the municipal car park after the Parc-Aventure.
